Mount Rainier Hike

Mount Rainier Hike

Mount Rainier Hike
Seattle, Washington

About Mount Rainier Hike :

The hike is a moderate four to six miles. It begins across a broad expansive meadow above Sunrise Visitor Center and follows the trail to Sourdough Ridge. From there you can see views to the North of Mount Baker and Glacier Peak.
Rise above the tree line and pass by Frozen Lake. This is where your first climb begins but you'll be distracted by the beauty and possible mountain goats that call Burroughs Mountain home. Then, you have reached the first of the three burroughs. Here, if you've run out of gas, you can sit and enjoy the view. If you're energized, continue on the second burrough which is the ultimate destination.
The second burrough provides stunning views of the Glacier Basin below, Little Tahoma on Rainier's Ridge to the south, and sweeping vistas of the park to the north, including Fremont Lookout, Berkeley and Grand Parks, and Skyscraper Mountain.
After a relaxing lunch, you'll take a different route back through lush meadows and scenic tree-lined paths.
Duration: 7 hours
