A quiet fishing village, Zihuatanejo, or as it is called, Zihua, embodies the spirit of Mexico. With cobblestone streets, and fisherman who still sell the catch of the day first thing in the morning, the town really does transport visitors back to a simpler and laid back way of life. Ixtapa, right next door, is definitely more of a tourist region. In fact, it was built specifically for the purpose of offering travelers a resort region featuring gorgeous beaches, wonderful dining experiences, and tons of activities, from snorkeling to surfing.
