The main temple of what was once Tenochtitlan, Templo Mayor wasn’t really excavated until the later part of the twentieth century. Today it has become one of the most visited archeological sites in the country.

As colorful a character as some of her artwork, Frida Kahlo called the Casa Azul in Mexico City home. This has now come to a be a renowned museum honoring her life and legacy. You can’t miss it—the façade is a bright and vibrant blue.

A celebration of the lives of those who’ve passed, Dia de Los Muertos is a huge event in Mexico City. A two day celebration (Nov. 1-2), the festival includes a massive parade, colorful costumes, and bands blasting music from just about every corner and park.
