Rotorua Tour with Te Puia and Redwoods Tree Walk
Your adventure begins in Auckland, New Zealand's largest city, where your guide will set the stage for the day ahead while highlighting some of the city's top attractions as you drive out. Heading south, you journey through the breathtaking Waikato countryside, known for its vast farming landscapes, mighty rivers, and picturesque scenery—perfect for photo opportunities. You'll pause for a coffee break at a special location along the way.
As you continue towards Rotorua, you'll pass through Tirau, famously dubbed the 'Corrugated Iron Capital of the World' for its unique sculptures and buildings, where your guide will ensure you don't miss any highlights. Upon reaching Rotorua, you'll take a guided driving tour to help you get your bearings and see the city's most famous sites, including Lake Rotorua, Rotorua Museum, Government Gardens, and more. Time permitting, you might stop for some discounted shopping and a taste of Manuka Honey.
After exploring Rotorua, you will be able to experience Redwood Treewalk. Suspended high above the forest floor, you'll encounter 75-meter-tall redwoods as you walk across eco-suspended bridges and platforms intricately designed to honor and accentuate the stunning natural environment.
You will also have the opportunity to experience Te Puia. Te Puia spans 70 hectares within the historic Te Whakarewarewa Geothermal Valley, on the edge of Rotorua. They are home to the world-famous Pōhutu geyser, mud pools, hot springs, and silica formations! You will also find a native Kiwi bird viewing house and see some of the native Maori architecture and culture at the national schools of wood carving, weaving, stone, and bone carving.
After Te Puia and Redwood Treewalk, you will begin your return journey to Auckland, complete with some secret stops along the way to make the most of your day.
