Overview

Wildlife and Culture on the Panama Canal Experience

Experience the Panama Canal in a whole new way!

Details

Leave the city behind and head to the wild side of Panama! Pass the Panama Canal's famous Culebra Cut, Gamboa resort, and Chagres River before you head into the Soberania National Park. Known for its birding (an annual bird count has spotted over 500 species in 24 hours!), Soberania national Park is full of wildlife and is a wonderful place to watch for monkeys, sloths, the Harpy Eagle and more. A boat tour gets you on the Panama canal and gives you time to explore Lake Gatun's numerous bays in search of wildlife. Next you will head up the Chagres River where you will visit an authentic Indian village; learn about the community history, art, music and dance. You can take a short hike along the trails through the rainforest to learn more about the native plants and how they use them. On the way back towards the city, you'll stop for lunch before dropping you at your hotels.
