Your adventure begins in Auckland, New Zealand's largest city, where your guide will set the stage for the day ahead while highlighting some of the city's top attractions as you drive out. Heading south, you journey through the breathtaking Waikato countryside. You will pause for a coffee break at a special location along the way. As you continue towards Rotorua, you'll pass through Tirau, your guide will ensure you don't miss any highlights. Upon reaching Rotorua, you'll take a guided driving tour to help you get your bearings and see the city's most famous sites, including Lake Rotorua, Rotorua Museum, Government Gardens, and more.
You will also have the opportunity to experience Te Puia and cultural performances. Te Puia spans 70 hectares within the historic Te Whakarewarewa Geothermal Valley, on the edge of Rotorua. They are home to the world-famous Pōhutu geyser, mud pools, hot springs, and silica formations. Te Puia's Māori cultural performances on Rotowhio Marae transport visitors back in time, beginning with a spine-tingling wero (challenge) from a Māori warrior followed by a traditional pōwhiri (welcome). Manuhiri are then invited inside the beautifully carved wharenui (meeting house), to experience a traditional and unique Māori concert.
