Turin Sweets and Chocolate Tour
Do Eat Better Experience Food Tour is the perfect match between a walking city tour and a real gourmet experience! The food choice depends on the season and availability.
This tour possibly includes Gianduiotti - the gianduiotto was born in 1853 in Turin. It is chocolate-shaped as a gold ingot, so by tradition, each gianduiotto is individually wrapped in gold tinfoil. They are incredibly creamy thanks to their unique mixture of Piedmont hazelnuts, cocoa, and sugar. Bicerin - it is a layered drink made with espresso, drinking chocolate, and whole milk or heavy cream. It is served in a large glass. This beverage has been known since the 18th century and was also praised by Alexander Dumas in his letters.
Marron glacé - this is a precious confection, originating in Piedmont, where chestnuts are a very available ingredient in the woods. Marron glacé consists of a chestnut candied in sugar syrup and glazed. The marrons glacées were invented shortly after the crusaders returned to Europe and they were the favorite dessert of the royal Italian family! Pinguino ice cream - in the warm season, you can taste the actual artisan gelato covered in crunchy dark chocolate. The confectionery they chose is the one where the Pinguino was first invented as a local contribution to the Italian tradition of gelato-making.
Cremino - this is another chocolate originally from Piedmont. It is composed of three layers of chocolate: the outer ones are made with gianduia chocolate, while the inner ones can be made with coffee, hazelnut paste, lemon, and so much more! Its typical shape is a cube and it's wrapped in tinfoil with a band which indicates the flavor.
Artisanal sliced chocolate - directly from a giant chocolate bar, you can choose your favorite taste among so many! Artisanal gelato - in a family-run gelato laboratory, you will have a look at the equipment used for the preparation of the most loved gelato by Turin people. Of course, you'll taste it!
Caffé espresso - an excellent espresso is the best way to end your journey into the Turinese patisserie tradition. You'll have an espresso in one of the oldest and most beautiful cafes in town.
