5 Great Colorado Camping Destinations for Couples

Here are five great Colorado camping destinations we think make for the perfect couples camping retreat.

Dunton Hot Springs

Nestled amid an old west setting, this campground provides amazing mountain scenery, and of course, tranquility. Wrap yourselves in the solitude of a rustic cabin while enjoying kayaking, biking, or better yet, just relaxing in the hot springs.

Saddlehorn

The only campground in Colorado National Monument, Saddlehorn is marked by breathtaking views as it is situated high up on a bluff. Located just outside of Fruita, this is a fantastic place to leave the cell phone behind and enjoy the quiet beauty of it all.

AspenGlen Campground

Located in Rocky Mountain National Park, this campground provides the perfect getaway from the noise of the everyday. From hiking trails galore, to steep mountain passes, you will never run out of things to do here. Or if you prefer, just put up your tent and get cozy!

Mesa Verde National Park

For the history buff, Mesa Verde provides opportunity for relaxation and a little ancient exploration. The cliff dwellings are certainly a site to cross off the bucket list, and the views are endless.

Sylvan Lake State Park

With cabins and yurts for rent, you get a more “modern” camping experience at this site situated around a 40 acre lake. Step outside in the morning with hot cup of coffee in hand and enjoy a magnificent sunrise coming up over the water.  Then spend the day fishing, canoeing or just kicking back!
