Our mission is to provide special needs populations the opportunity to enjoy a quality outdoor recreational experience fishing on the water.
Originally designed to open the door to fishing for disabled children and their families, the foundation has broadened its scope to include urban children populations (through our Fishing Kids program), and in 2011, the foundation expanded the scope once again to provide program services to support transitioning service members and their families. The Foundation currently hosts these three programs, called: C.A.S.T. for Kids, Fishing Kids, and Take a Warrior Fishing. Each program hosts adaptive events that create a Least Restrictive Environment where anyone can achieve success and increase awareness regarding the abilities of populations with special needs. All of these events are made possible through the collaboration of numerous community groups, local businesses and countless volunteers. The C.A.S.T. for Kids Foundation aims for presence across the nation allowing individuals everywhere and of any means an opportunity to learn how to fish.
