We work to improve the lives of cats, dogs and rabbits in California by addressing the root cause of most companion animal suffering: pet overpopulation. Our volunteers reach out to our communities to provide low cost pet sterilization, humane education, and legislative support.
Since 1955, Pet Assistance Foundation has worked tirelessly to prevent animal suffering in Southern California. We focus especially on the need for affordable spay and neuter services. Not only does this directly reduce the birth rate of surplus cats, dogs and rabbits, it also helps keep animals in their homes, and out of already overcrowded shelters. The hundreds of callers we assist on our hotlines each month WANT to keep their pets. They WANT to do the right thing. But with soaring vet prices, they need help. Sometimes a referral to a lower cost clinic or municipal program is all it takes, but often a stipend is needed to make the procedure possible. Our trained volunteers work with our clients individually to find the best solution. Our Low Overhead/High Volunteer Participation approach ensures that your donation of any amount will make a difference in one or more animals’ lives!
