TreeUtah works with government agencies, local businesses, schools, church groups, and community volunteers to plant trees in public spaces throughout the state. We plant trees of all types and sizes to make Utah a greener place to live, work, and play. Every year, TreeUtah aims to plant thousands of new trees to make our communities healthier. Since our founding in 1988, TreeUtah has planted more than 370,000 trees with the help of over 155,000 volunteers and donors around Utah.

Our Community Tree Planting program helps make our schools and parks beautiful and inviting by planting and maintaining large trees. With newly planted trees, these areas will help improve the air, lower temperatures in our cities, and even reduce crime. To ensure the health of the ecosystems along Utah’s Wasatch Front, our Restoration volunteers help plant thousands of native trees along the Jordan River corridor and the peaks and canyons of the Wasatch Mountains. TreeUtah feels passionate about empowering children to take ownership of their environment through tree plantings at their schools. Our school tree plantings offer a unique learning opportunity for students to learn a new skill and learn empathy and respect for living things. When we aren’t able to plant trees, TreeUtah’s environmental education programs bring nature-play, tree-themed STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art & math) to summer schools all over Utah and are designed to utilize neighborhood green space.
