For decades this event was shared with the Santa Fe Indian Market but back in the 70s it regained exclusivity as its own event once again; which we think is beneficial to both events! Where indigenous peoples’ influences don’t show, the Spanish influence in New Mexico is prevalent.
This three-day event occurs at the end of April each year in Albuquerque. The purpose is to appreciate indigenous cultures with song, dance, food, and other festivities. There are plenty of performances and contests such as the Long Hair Contest. Tickets run about $20/day and bring some extra cash for shopping.
