Over a total of four floors you’ll be able to play around with huge replicas of your favorite M&M personalities, see an array of quirky merchandise, and fantasize about what you would write on your own M&M if you were able; then do it.
For a pyrotechnic marvel don’t miss the Mirage’s volcano which erupts a few times per evening. It’s starts slowly but heats up quickly thereafter spewing flames all around the water and out of the manmade caldera. You’ll feel the heat from the flames from one hundred feet away which adds to the experience.
Circus Circus gives little reason for people to visit it with its old, comparably dilapidated look but it’s one of the oldest standing mainstays on the Strip, the indoor amusement park is cool, and they have The World’s Largest Permanent Circus. The circus is free and is daily from 11:30AM to 12:30PM. You’ll be treated to the typical acts such as jugglers, unicyclists, and acrobats. And clowns, but you can ignore them.
This is actually a really cool way to step away from the hustle and bustle of the Strip, not to mention all of the lack of nature, so that you can have a bit of zen time with exotic birds and fish. The outdoor habitat at the Flamingo has black-necked swan, koi, and, surprise surprise, flamingos. Hours are 8AM – 8PM and while you’re there you can also check out the free performances that often occur in the casino area.
Well, you have to get out there which will cost a few bucks, but it’s totally free once you’re there! The Hoover Dam is quite the feat and while one might say “but it’s just a dam, I’ve seen dams before” it’s another story when you’re standing atop the dam looking down 726’ at the stream below. You don’t need too much time here but give yourself a solid 20-minutes of quiet to take in the nature and awe of the area.
Located deep in the claustrophobic Caesar’s Palace is the Forum Shops and the Fall of Atlantis show that runs for 13-hours per day. With special effects and fireballs as well as a soundtrack complete with King Atlas you’ll witness the fall of Atlantis over and over through the day (every hour). While there, check out the “street” performers and the talking statues.
The Bellagio, for how expensive it is to stay at, offers an extraordinary amount of quality free activities. In this case, it’s their Conservatory and Botanical Gardens which is easily the best free botanical gardens you’re going to find within a thousand miles. They will have more than 10,000 potted plants and art pieces throughout, creating an ambiance of natural beauty.
Hotels on the Strip do whatever they can to get you to enter their mall areas in the chance that maybe you’ll purchase an overpriced something or other. At the Venetian one such technique is by selling gondola rides on the artificial canals. Don’t worry about dropping the cash to enjoy the experience, as you can simply watch others pay for their gondolier to belt out Italian tunes that echo through the halls.
For an eclectic scene head to old town Vegas where the Freemont Street Experience takes place, and what an experience it is! From live bands, to live DJs mixing, to the countless number of street performers there will be entertaining scenes to observe every night down here. Additionally, there curved giant awning above the promenade will have several showings of light, animation, and music.
