Affordable International Destination Weddings

Belize is a small Caribbean country with some of the best diving sights in the world.  You can easily get to Guatemala within a 2hr bus ride, as well as see the jungles of Belize along the way.  The keys such as the popular Caye Caulker are home to a slew of cute and small locally-run resorts.  Ferries to the mainland are frequent and cheap, and there are plenty of options for fishing trips, snorkeling, and SCUBA.  You’ll regret passing up the opportunity to dive the top destination of the Blue Hole where hammerhead sharks, stingrays, and coral make their home, so get your lessons and certification first.

Jamaica is a very affordable vacation as it is, but the beaches of Montego pull in most of the American tourists looking for all-inclusive resorts and relaxation.  The wise, however, take the hour drive to the west where Negril is found.  Two coastal types separate Negril: beach, and cliffs.  Seven Mile Beach is on the northern side of town where you’ll find affordable beachside resorts with a lively nightlife.  Head a few miles south and you’ll be at the cliffs of Negril where small posh resorts settle above the turquoise water with a prime view of sunset over the horizon nightly.  Most of these resorts have designated cliff jumping areas that will be the most fun your friends and family will have on the whole trip; whether watching or participating.  In between the cliffs and beach are wonderfully local bars and restaurants where you can sip the Jamaica-only Red Stripe Bold, shoot pool with the locals, and eat jerk chicken cooked in a barrel on the sidewalk.  Mmmm, culture.

Due to its accessibility from the U.S. and American demand for all-inclusive resorts this destination has made quite the dent in Mexico’s all-inclusive market share.  This has led to more frequent and direct flights from the states which means cheaper prices.  Because your best bet in the D.R. is on the beautiful beaches that are on the outskirts, make sure you choose your resort wisely as you’ll be spending nearly all your time there.  Ensure that there’s a good pool, highly rated food, and watersport options to keep everyone as busy as they want to be.
