Temecula is a city in southern California, about 60 miles north of San Diego. The area is known for tourism, mostly based around the flourishing wine industry. Temecula has a charming main street that is called “Old Town”.

    The Temecula wine industry has been growing over the last 50 years. The area is within an hour and half drive from Los Angeles, San Diego, and Palm Springs. Temecula is best known for boutique and mostly family-owned wineries.

    Temecula has a strong history, and the city continues to celebrate its roots. The area was established in 1859, and visitors enjoy the shops, restaurants, and galleries that reside in the old buildings.

    Temecula has several major annual events. The Temecula Valley Balloon & Wine Festival is held in June at Lake Skinner. As the name suggests, the event celebrates wine and has balloon launches. Another great event is the Temecula Valley International Film Festival celebrates film and music.

  • Spring can be a great time to see Temecula as rates are typically more affordable. By May, temps climb to near 80 degrees. Spring also has bottle release events.

  • Summer is peak tourism season, and the major events happen during the summer. Summers are hot and dry, with temps reaching around 90.

  • Fall is the grape harvest (AKA "crush") season. The area is beautiful with the changing of the vines and the weather cools. Many people believe that fall is the best time to visit wine country.
