Fort Collins sits in Northern Colorado against the Poudre River and at the base of the Rocky Mountains. Fort Collins is a beautiful blend of so many things. The area was initially known as a campus town, with Colorado State University calling Fort Collins home. However, the city has so much more to offer. Foodies (and boozies) love the selection of restaurants and microbreweries. Outdoor enthusiasts have a surplus of options from kayaking to hiking to rock climbing. The local economy is booming with a culture that is very friendly towards entrepreneurial startups. Fort Collins in unquestionably one of the most livable cities in Colorado.

  • Microbreweries

    Fort Collins is home to some of the best microbreweries in the country. Some of the most popular include New Belgium and Odell Brewing. If you prefer the bigger beer companies, Budweiser has a major plant just outside of Fort Collins. One of the most celebrated annual events is “Tour de Fat”, which is all about beer and bikes.

  • Horsetooth Reservoir

    Horsetooth is a major reservoir just to the west of Fort Collins. It offers some of the best recreational boating (wakeboarding, waterskiing, etc.) in the state. Fishing is also quite popular.

  • The Charm

    Fort Collins has done a great job preserving the historic downtown area. Many of the storefronts date back to the 1800s, but are now occupied by restaurants, bars, shops, galleries, and boutiques. The area frequently hosts various events and festivals. rnrnFun fact – Disney drew inspiration from Fort Collins in designing “Main Street, U.S.A” which was themed after the all-American city.

  • Outdoor Activity

    Fort Collins is regularly ranked as one of the happiest and healthiest cities in the country. The biking culture is huge, with bike shops never far away and plenty of bike paths available.

THE SEASONS
  • Winters are cool but dry. Daily high temps are in the 40s. Fort Collins unfortunately isn't very close to skiing options (compared to most Colorado towns).

  • Spring is relatively the wet season and can be unpredictable between sunny/warm days and wet snowstorms. By late spring, the weather is quite nice with temps in the low 70s in May.

  • Summers are sunny, warm, and beautiful... perfect for the outdoors culture. Residents spend summers hiking, biking, and playing on the water.

  • Early falls are a great time to visit. Weather is typically dry, mild, and sunny. Fall is excellent for seeing the colors change and checking out a CSU Rams home football game at their new stadium.
