New Year festivities, temple visits, and seasonal markets provide a cultural experience during the quieter, crowd-free months.

  • Spring is one of the best times to visit Osaka, with mild temperatures between 50°F and 70°F (10°C to 21°C) and cherry blossoms in full bloom from late March to early April. Osaka Castle Park becomes a popular hanami (flower-viewing) destination, as do riverside spots like Kema Sakuranomiya Park. This season is also great for strolling through Dotonbori’s neon-lit streets or exploring the historic streets of Shinsekai.

  • Summer in Osaka is hot and humid, with temperatures ranging from 75°F to 95°F (24°C to 35°C), and June typically sees the start of the rainy season. By July and August, the city heats up—both in weather and energy. Summer festivals like Tenjin Matsuri, one of Japan’s biggest and most colorful, fill the streets with processions, fireworks, and traditional boat parades. Fireworks displays along the Yodogawa River bring locals together on summer nights with picnics and yukata (summer kimono).
