Date Ideas for Couples Who Love to Learn (Volume 7)

From cooking and cocktails all the way to learning how to curl, here is our latest of: Date Ideas for Couples Who Love to Learn (Volume 7).

Cocktail Class

At the Thomas & Sons Distillery you’ll use fresh local produce and craft spirits to build delicious and outstanding cocktails to add to your repertoire.  If you’re like so many of us, your knowledge base for cocktails consists of drinks whose names also happen to be their ingredients: Rum & Coke, Vodka Cranberry, and beer.  You may think you’re savvy knowing their official names (Cuba Libre, Cape Cod, and, I don’t know, not Budweiser?).  Thomas & Sons will have you walking away with key knowledge and new cocktails such as the Up in Smoke, or Waffle Widow.

Massage Class

Massages are necessary for all hard workers but oh-so-expensive.  What if there were a way to get unlimited massages without having to pay?  Sure, you may have to agree to a one-for-one exchange of massages with your spouse but at least your weary muscles will be well taken care of.  Touch and Heal Spa will teach you all of the basics for giving that soothing backrub that will certainly be reciprocated regularly.  They’ll teach you the “Shanghai Stomp,” the “Jelly Roll Over,” and the deep tissue technique “Bone Bruiser” – nah, we just made those up (thank God).  They’ll teach you real techniques in a professional and comfortable setting.

Oil Painting

Painting is super easy (for people who have worked hard for years and have learned important tactics and developed skills to express their inner emotions to convey beautiful pieces of art); yea, painting is super easy.  At Kramer Vineyards you can actually take the opportunity to learn a thing or two about oil painting.  Not feeling so in touch with your creative side?  No problem!  Suck down a few glasses of delicious wine and see what inspiration you start feeling!

Curling

The winter Olympics are around the corner and you’re about to be in that awkward position of watching sports that exist in the realm of the esoteric except for two weeks every four years; enter curling.  Learn how to rock this sport (that was kind of a pun; the thing they curl with is a “stone” but a true pun would be insinuating drugs…we went with “rocking” instead) with this fun curling class.  Now, when that obscure sport comes on the tele every four years you can wow your friends with your expansive knowledge that they will be jealous of.

Cooking Class

Your cooking probably sucks.  That’s not an insult, it’s just a statistically safe accusation.  But now you can finally be part of the 1% (in something).  This particular class is a private cooking class that will teach you how to cook tapas and deserts that cater to your food preferences.  A chef will have a watchful eye on you teaching you tricks and new recipes that you can take home with you.  Nevermore will you have that internal dialogue of which Chef Boyardee can is the tastiest.
Pair some cocktails with tapas, burn those calories with a strange sport, and then ease those muscles with a soothing massage from your spouse…and paint, also paint. These are great date options for those of you who are looking to learn something new.rnrn
