Shark Tank Features Eco Flower (Company with Modern Twist on Bouquets)

Shark Tank features Eco Flower - a company with a modern twist on wedding bouquets.  Give them a watch and a follow!

Shark Tank and the Wedding Industry

As a startup company, Spur Experiences is a big fan of the TV show Shark Tank.  You probably already know that Shark Tank features self-made millionaire and billionaire (we see you Mark Cuban) investors.  Startup founders pitch their businesses to the investors in hopes of gaining an investment and a strategic partner. Spur Experiences pays close attention when Shark Tank features companies that touch on the wedding industry.  Kevin O’Leary (self-proclaimed “Mr. Wonderful”) has repeatedly invested in companies that operate in the bridal industry as he has used this to build his “Something Wonderful” campaign. On the Shark Tank episode that first aired on November 4th, 2016, Eco Flower pitched to the sharks.  Eco Flower uses recycled and sustainable materials for flower bouquets. Eco Flower creates wood flowers, paper flowers, corn husk flowers, brooch wedding bouquets, pine cone flowers, and many other materials that are great for our planet.

Eco Flower in the Tank

A major portion of Eco Flower’s business is for bouquets used in weddings.  Spur Experiences is a big a fan of Eco Flower as they use recycled and sustainable materials for their bouquets.  The other benefit is that these can be memorable keepsakes from the wedding day. SPOILER ALERT

Many of the sharks were concerned on whether brides (or women in general) would be interested in these flowers.  They also raised concerns about how little of equity the founder still had in the business.  While Eco Flower initially asked for $400,000 for 10% of the business, they eventually settled on the same investment for 20% equity from Daymond John.  Spur Experiences sends our warmest congratulations to Eco Flower and Daymond.
